Researchers at UCSD found that installing solar panels will block the sunlight hitting your roof by as much as 38%, in-turn lowering your homes temperature by as much as 5 degrees. This air gap allows cooling of the roof and cooler solar panels which produce more solar over time. Rolling Blackouts happen when the power demand is greater than the power supply capability of the network.  When the demand is greater than the network can handle, shutdowns can happen on a rolling basis.

SDG&E has been put on alert that we are on the watch list for rolling blackouts due to the high heat.  What does that mean to you?  SDG&E has been put on notice by California ISO (Independent System Operator), that we may experience rolling blackouts.  The blackouts will happen by circuit, each neighborhood is assigned a circuit number.
